BESS sites support a more flexible, resilient energy system by storing electricity from renewable sources like wind and solar and releasing it when demand is high.
Key features of the proposal include:
- A sensitively designed landscaping scheme to reflect local character and provide effective screening – located immediately adjacent to Abernethy substation
- Biodiversity improvements and new habitats
- Infrastructure designed to meet rigorous environmental and safety standards
