Erection of a Green Data Centre and Formation of a New Public Park at 1 Redheughs Avenue Edinburgh
The application for Planning Permission in Principle was submitted in September 2025 and is currently undergoing assessment for the City of Edinburgh Council.
The application is recognised as a National Development under National Planning Framework 4, as it comprises a green data centre, which is identified as essential digital infrastructure. The application also proposes to relocate protected open space, which will be reconfigured into a new public park.
SHP was engaged in preparing PAN and managing extensive pre-application consultation programme with the City of Edinburgh Council and the local community. SHP also worked closely with project team in preparing both the Planning Statement and Pre-Application Consultation Report, liaising with the team on design evolution and advising on/contributing to other supporting documents.
