SHP has submitted an application for full planning permission for a mixed-use development comprising 361-bed purpose-built student accommodation, ground floor commercial uses (Class 1, 2, 3 and 4) and the retention of the existing ground floor façade at 63 Brown Street, Dundee. The site sits on the edge of Dundee City Centre within a Conservation Area and the Blackness Regeneration Area, where the proposal will make a significant contribution to the regeneration of the area while respecting the heritage considerations at the site. With various issues a key consideration in the application, including the principle of student housing, heritage and design, SHP continue to manage the application to a decision, which is expected in April 2021.
