Planning Permission approved at Planning Committee for mixed-use development including purpose-built student accommodation at Brown Street, Dundee

April 22nd 2021

SHP is pleased to announce that planning permission for a mixed-used development comprising a 361-bed purpose-built student accommodation and five commercial units (Class 1, Class 2, Class 3 and Class 4) at 63 Brown Street, Dundee has been approved by Dundee City Council following Planning Committee on 15th March 2021. The proposed development at the site, which sits within the Blackness Conservation Area, will meet a need for high-quality student housing in Dundee, while also delivering significant commercial floorspace to support the regeneration of this gateway location between the City Centre and Blackness Conservation Area. The decision by the Planning Committee follows extensive dialogue with the Council’s planning officers since the pre-application stage to ensure an appropriate and deliverable proposal will come forward at the site.
