Scott Hobbs Planning submit PAN for Exchange 2

April 28th 2016

Scott Hobbs Planning recently submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) for a major mixed-use development at Dewar Place, Edinburgh on behalf of clients Scottish Power Energy Networks and the consortium C220. The proposal site, known as Exchange 2, is one of the ‘Edinburgh 12’ sites designated for major redevelopment in the city and will be an extension of Edinburgh’s successful commercial area, The Exchange District.

The proposals will interperate the Exchange 2 Masterplan approved in 2010 by the City of Edinburgh Council, retaining the Dewar Place facade and building on the podium deck above Scottish Power’s new sub-station completed in 2012, and providing a new route from Morrison Street to Conference Square, over the Western Approach Road.

The PAN outlines public exhibition events SHP will host alongside the developer team, consulting the public about the proposed development and generating feedback to inform the final designs before a future application for planning permission in principle. Members of the community will be notified and invited to attend. Consultation will also be made with the area’s councillors and community councils.

The first of the two events will take place on the 15th June from 4pm to 8pm at The Capital Business Centre on Canning Street. The second is planned for later in the year at the same venue, date TBC.
