Scott Hobbs Planning (SHP) has secured planning permission for a 170 bed purpose built student accommodation development in Canterbury, on behalf of Empiric Student Property.
SHP, working alongside architects LHC and transport consultants Sweco, provided advice throughout the process, culminating in the presentation of the proposals to the Canterbury City Council Planning Committee in July. The proposals involve the retention and conversion of part of the existing, former Franciscan Study Centre buildings at the site, and the addition of four new-build blocks of accommodation and amenity space.
The site is located adjacent to the University of Kent campus and will be Empiric’s second student accommodation development in the city.
