Scott Hobbs Planning has submitted an application for Planning Permission in Principle to Aberdeenshire Council on behalf of client Ashfield Land for the commercial element of the mixed use settlement expansion of Blackdog, to the north of Aberdeen.
The mixed used commercial development will consist of a new town centre including regional food hall, retail, leisure and Class 3 uses; business and industrial uses (Classes 4, 5 and 6); alterations to access from A90 roundabout and other infrastructure works. The development will create 1,200 jobs during the construction phase and 1,500 full-time jobs longer term.
Following the inclusion of the major development site in the Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan in 2012 and the approval of the Blackdog Masterplan in 2013, SHP conducted extensive public consultation on the masterplan for our client alongside housebuilder Kirkwood Homes who are submitting 450 homes to the south of the site alongside Ashfield’s application.
SHP are pleased that the subsequent planning application has been well recieved, highlighting the unique design of the town centre building, which will act as a hub for the strategic Energetica corridor.
