Purpose-Built Student Accommodation development.

The application for planning permission was submitted in May 2023 and was approved through Delegated Decision in September 2023.

Key issues were student concentration within the locality, justifying 100% studio unit provision and surrounding residential amenity.

SHP was engaged in the pre-application enquiry with City of Edinburgh Council including informal public consultation with members of the public, submission of a planning application and liaising with City of Edinburgh Council through a delegated decision process. SHP worked closely with project team, in preparing a Planning Statement, liaising with the team on design evolution and advising on/contributing to other supporting documents and providing justification against the latest NPF4 requirements. Successful negotiation of accommodation mix to focus on a fully studio scheme.
