SHP pre-application enquiry for a development at 56 Brown Street Douglas (Dundee) including the submission of the Pre-application and liaison with Dundee Council.
The Planning Permission application was submitted June 2021 for proposed erection of mixed-use building with ground live and work (Class 2 and Class 4) units and student accommodation in upper floors, with associated parking access and landscaping. 147 purpose built student bedspaces including 11 ground floor studios adjacent to proposed workshops which can be utilised as live and work units. A further 6 ground floor workshops have been purpose which would be able to accommodate a mix of uses including live work/ commercial space, comprising a mix Class 2 (financial, professional and other services) and Class 4 (offices). It was proposed that the live and work units can be utilised by the students who require workspace for arts or other subjects. There was additional interest at the pre-application stage from a potential doctor surgery operator which could occupy a Class 2 floorspace. SHP fully led the management of all application submitted.
Planning permission was Granted by Dundee Council in November 2021.
